Round I POPHTC Introduction Letter:
A one-page "letter of interest" sent to public health
agencies in PA and OH to introduce POPHTC and assess their
interest in it. The letter was accompanied by the "benefits
and expectations sheet" and "benefits and expectations
consent." Respondents indicating interest in POPHTC were
interviewed for a needs assessment using the "Round II
interview guide."
Round I Benefits and Expectations Consent:
A one-page form providing an opportunity for an agency
to accept or decline participation in POPHTC. Agencies
participating in POPHTC provided contact information for
the Round II needs assessment interview .
Round II Interview Guide:
An interview guide for POPHTC staff conducting 15-30 minutes
needs assessment
interviews with participating POPHTC agencies.
Round III:
Individuals within selected organizations were assessed
for training needs via on-site group interviews.
These groups were made up of representatives of all levels
of the health department staffs. Group leaders asked
the group to brainstorm about their training needs, asking
them specifically to identify “What hangs you up on a
daily basis?” ,“ ”What skills don’t you have that you
wish you had? “, and “What skills do you have that you’d
like to see sharpened?”
